The New Magnetic Microdermal dangles: a very good thing

I posted a little while back about some cool new microdermal dangles. They are magnetic so they always hang the right way down, and should it get caught in something, it will detach itself from the base without causing trauma to your piercing. I've gone to sleep with mine on several times and I've never lost it, it stayed put through the night. I really love them, they make your microdermal more versatile, you can change the tops quickly without unscrewing the base. This can also protect the internal thread of your anchor by reducing the number of times you change jewellery. I have ordered some magnetic gem tops without the dangles as well and they will be on the shop soon. Check out the new Piercings section where we have a small selection of body jewellery available.

The smaller ones I thought are idea for facial piercings, there's a small anchor, some cherries, a little lock, a swallow. I have seen the cherries and the anchor in particular, on a couple of my customers and they looked amazing.

Our new dealings with the Metal Mafia

We have a new business connection in NYC and they have convinced us to start a new line of body jewellery. It is very small for the moment and pieces are handpicked. So here we are, eagerly awaiting to take delivery of our shipment from Metal Mafia, NYC. Rock'n'Rouge will be one of the very first UK shops to carry a brand new type of microdermal jewellery, and it is a very clever little piece as well. They are magnetic dangles. When I saw them, I wondered how they worked because microdermal anchors aren't magnetic. But our lovely Metal Mafia contact quickly shed some light on the md dangles situation. The dangles consist of a magnetic head, which screws into your microdermal anchor, and the jewellery itself attaches to the head. It always hangs the right way down and should it get caught and pulled, it will simply come off and leave your piercing untouched.

Depending on the popularity of the dangles we might also introduce the magnetic microdermal tops which makes changing tops really quick and easy. No need to unscrew and change, simply swap the tops. The other advantage those new magnetic tops have is to preserve the tread inside the post.

September and the things that it brings

Seeing as I was born in September, I got accustomed to getting new things and surprises just around this time of year. So here, I am sharing this tradition and letting the September autumnal winds sweep some new pretties in. This month brings us a brand new line of jewellery by Luna which includes a massive triple owl totem in antique brass, a pretty bumble bee and a sweet vintage camera in brass and enamel.

There's only a few days left before we embark on our journey to Sixpenny Handley, home of the Endorse-It in Dorset Festival. This is going to be the first festival that we attend with Rock n Rouge so it is exciting and we don't know what's in store for us, but we are sure it will be a fun filled weekend!
Altho the weekend calls for a lot of preparation, we are very nearly ready for the event, we have had new stock delivered, we have bought a shiny new black gazebo complete with banners so you can find us more easily, and our wellies are on the ready because everyone knows a festival in England is not a complete until you have a lot of mud!
Having looked through the photos from the previous years, it looks promising. A few trader friends we have worked with at other events have been going to this festival for the past few years and they all agreed that it was an event well worth attending.
The band line-up is diverse and includes acts such as UK Subs, Pronghorn And Banco De Gaia On Friday, New Model Army, Cropdusters, Rezillos, The Members, Urban Voodoo Machine On Saturday, Then The Closing Day On Sunday Will Feature Acts Such As Subgiant, Zodiac Mindwarp & TLR, Alabama 3 Acoustic, Citizen Fish, Dubmatix, RDF, Scrumpy Sunday Feat. The Wurzels
Even if you have not purchased your tickets for the festival, if you were looking for something to do, this could well be the next weekend planned for you. More than just a make-up bag!

I have an Archos 7 tablet, which is my travel media player. I had it next to my Liquor Brand make-up bag when I was packing to go to the last Portsmouth Tattoo Convention last month. Summer has arrived and brought us new pretties under its wing

Last week saw several new products make their way to our doorstep, but they hadn't been uploaded until today because we were dashing around, getting ready for the Portsmouth Tattoo Convention which took place at the Guildhall. This was our stall, stacked high with goodies. :-)

Saturday was a bit quiet, but Sunday saw the place get busier with a colourful crowd. We each managed to get add new bit of ink to our respective, ever-growing collection!

Today, a parcel came from the lovely Leslie at Kitsch n Kouture in California, filled with goodies for you. We also have new products from Double Dice, Alchemy, Too Fast and Clarabella. The good news is all of these goodies are not just for girls!

If any of you have been to the Bournemouth tattoo convention you will know that it is always well organised and doesn't leave much time for boredom to set in. Despite all the amazing entertainment and the talented tattoo artists to watch at work, there is always time to fit a bit of shopping in.

We had a great weekend, thanks to all involved, it was one of the friendliest and warmest events we have had the pleasure to attend. Also, thanks to some useful feedback from customers and visitors who stopped at our stall to have a look and a chat, we know how we can expand our range of accessories a bit more. Men's accessories are in demand!

Summertime and conventions everywhere!

We were at the first South Parade Pier Tattoo Extravaganza last month, and I must say, it was a a great event, friendly atmosphere, bustling with colourful bodies, and staying true to ourselves, we took turns leaving our stall to get some ink! There was so much talent on display, once more, big names and apprentices alike, some artists are just amazing. The venue was perfect for a tattoo convention, being on the seafront, where sailors were tattooed back in the days.

Tomorrow, we are off to a local convention, in Bridgwater, the 5th Somerset Tattoo Convention which used to to take place outside a pub, under some marquees, but this year, the organisers have moved things indoors, at the Bridgwater sports and social club. I am looking forward to this, I have not attended the previous years so it will be nice to experience something local.

Then next weekend, we will be attending the Bournemouth Ink tattoo convention at the BIC. If the past 2 years are anything to go by, it will be a weekend to remember! I really hope to see many familiar faces again, and meet new ones. Come and say hello and eat some of our free sweeties if you're down this way! We will be there with new stuff we have picked just for you!

Starting the New Year in style: London Edge alternative trade show is coming soon

We've just started a new year and it is time we restock with new things.

What better way to start by going to the London Edge trade show on February 6th and see what we can find for you. Email us your wishlist of pretty things we don't already have and that you would like to see on the site or at conventions. We're really excited about this show, there's always so much to see and choose from, and it is usually a great day. We are looking forward to seeing the lovely people of Alchemy, the smashing gals from Too Fast, the friendly people at Clarabella and of course take in all the fabulous entertainment and make business contacts with some new suppliers and talented designers.

We will keep you posted on what we found after the show!

We love After Inked

We love this product. After Inked is possibly the best tattoo care product we have come across so far. It feels good going on the skin, it's not greasy and it doesn't stick to your clothes. When used on a fresh tattoo, it soothes the sting and takes the redness away. The tattoos we have used it on have healed really quickly and they have healed well. The skin remained smooth and hydrated. After Inked is also cruelty free and vegan friendly. We really think that if you try it once you will love it too. It does seem to be a step forward in tattoo care.

We went to London and now we're back!

And what a weekend that was. Now that I have pretty much recovered from that one, I would like to thank every single person who attended because your presence made the event extra special. The organisers also did a great job putting the whole thing on, everything went smoothly from beginning to end. We arrived on Thursday to set up our stall and then headed off to a delightful little Italian restaurant for a well deserved meal.

We were right across from the stage all weekend so we managed to see some of the acts taking place. The Amazing Ari gave several performances throughout the weekend, which were as fabulous as ever. Fire eaters, burlesque entertainers, there was so much going on all the time. Sailor Jerry also offered delicious samples of their rum with ginger beer and lime.

The venue was fantastic, the Tobacco Docks is such an impressive building. We were set up in the Vaults, with their beautiful brick arches, keeping us cool! This was our view from the front of the stall

It was a wonderful weekend, very eventful, we managed to see lots of people we knew and met new faces as well. All in a friendly and colourful setting, buzzing with energy and creativity.

On Saturday, I took some time off from my stall and got some ink. My left calf is now beautifully adorned with a sexy rat girl pinup by the lovely and very talented Morg Armeni from Genova, Italy.

Upstairs were all the tattooers and there was so much beautiful art to see.

The trade went well, thanks to all of you who supported us and spoiled yourself or a friend. We will be adding more Alchemy stuff on the site soon. We have also picked up some After Inked tattoo care lotion which is truly wonderful product and suitable for vegans. I am also going to be working on our very own creations over the next couple of months.

On the road, the 6th London Tattoo Convention

Here it is, the 6th London Tattoo Convention. After a couple of stress filled days, we are just about ready to hit the road. Most of the new products we were expecting for you has arrived. We have some Alchemy bracelets and necklaces for the boys, a bit of their steampunk for the girls, some new hair candy and necklaces from TooFast brand.

A parcel arrived yesterday morning much to my surprise, I'd expected it to be held at customs for days, but it just arrived and I opened it to find amazing necklaces from Kitsch n Kouture and some very cool charms for your dogs collar, designed by Underground Hound.

Sadly, our Iron Fist delivery has not made it in time to come with us, so we will have no shoes to offer you.

This convention will be long and hard work, but it will be all worth it because it is such a fun and diverse event, colourful and buzzing, literally, with tons of entertainment. Plus a little bonus ink for me on Saturday by the delightful Morg from Genova. We really hope you can make it and make sure to come and find us. We have free sweeties as usual! :-)

London Edge was really good this year, lots of new stuff, and it looks like we will be offering you some shoes this Winter! We had a word with the lovely people at Iron Fist and we have decided to do business with them. Start with jewelry and bags, end up with shoes. It only makes sense! The new collection was also amazing! Just wait and see!

We finally met the delightful girls from Toofast who were very friendly despite recoving from a long Transatlantic flight, they also have a lot of new pretties, but those might have wait until Xmas!

Then we had a chat with Alchemy and we will be offering you some of their items. At first we will be carrying mostly stuff for the Inked Boys, but who knows! Their tattoo themed products are really impressive. Thinking about Xmas already?!

A few suppliers from the continent caught our eye too with their shiny things, we will be in touch with them and see what this will bring you!

Some of our products will be discontinued when they sell out, but as they say, you win some, you lose some. We had a great day just for you lovely people!

Summer is still here, but we are headed towards Autumn. New season means that new products will be added to our collection. We currently have some really cool new handbags which nearly didn't make it to our door! Indeed, much to our surprise, our last shipment was seized by customs for containing offensive weapons.
